A special evening of Jazz music was organised at The Flour works in Kalyaninagar recently. Despite the rains almost wrecking all the plans, the rain Gods ceased the downpour and presented us with the perfect post-rain weather. With the chill, crisp air, low lighting and the soulful voice of Sandhya D’mello, backed by Aubrey on keyboards and Sunil Rogers on the saxophone, it was the perfect way to celebrate the evening especially considering the holiday the next day.Huge crowds gathered as Sandhya (also known as Sandy) captured the audience with her mesmerising vocal range as she sang some of her favourite numbers such as ‘Fly me to the moon’, ‘Boy from Ipanema’ and ‘Blue moon’. Gracefully serenading the audience, music played on till late in the night. The trio has been together for a long while now and enjoy singing at different locations in Pune.”We live and breathe Jazz music,” said Sandy. “It is like a musical conversation, and it feels great to perform in front of so many familiar, happy faces,” added Sunil.
