20-year-old girl molested by fellow student in Pune

Pune: In yet another case of molestation, a 20-year-old girl complained of molestation at the Hinjewadi police station against her classmate, Naveed Khan on Saturday. Both of them are the students of Erandwane based law school. The incident is reported to have taken place on March 22 in Bavdhan.
Senior police inspector of Hinjewadi police station said, "On March 22, the girl was out with a friend to celebrate her birthday in a hotel. On their way back home at midnight, their car was stopped by Naveed Khan and two of his friends. The girl's friend was forced to step out of the car and was kept engaged by Naveed's companions while the accused sat on the driver's seat and took the girl at some distance without her consent."
The cop added that Naveed tried to convince the girl to accept his proposal and when she refused, he started molesting her. The girl was scared and screamed for help, when some passers-by noticed them Naveed dropped her back and threatened her of dire consequences.
The accused, Naveed Khan, used to call her up and would ask her to be friends with him. Despite refusing his friendship request, the accused did not stop calling her over the phone. He even embarrassed her in the college as well at public places. He did not even spare her friend and also harassed her.
He added, "She was so scared that she did not file a report and even skipped her exams in the fear that he would trouble her again. Finally, when she could not tolerate him any more, the girl filed a complaint against him yesterday."
