The Bombay high court on Wednesday stayed a warrant issued by a magistrate’s court against the Raju brothers. Byraraju Ramalinga Raju, 54, former chairman, and Ramaraju B, 50, former managing director and CEO of Satyam had moved court seeking respite early this month.

Both are lodged at Chanchalguda Central Prison, Hyderabad. Justice DG Karnik stayed the production warrant issued against the former chairman and MD of M/s Satyam Computers Services Limited till January 6.

On January 28, the metropolitan magistrate had initiated prosecution against the brothers. “Since they were lodged at Hyderabad prison, we filed exemption applications seeking their exemption from appearing in court,” said Shamsher Garud, advocate.
