Symbiosis launches RK Laxman chair

The Symbiosis International University (SIU) on Saturday unveiled its RK Laxman chair under the Faculty of Media, Communication and Design, at a function at the Symbiosis Vishwabhavan Auditorium.

The chair will seek to recognise eminent scholars and encourage thought leadership in the field of media. Well-known journalist Dileep Padgaonkar will be the first chair professor for SIU.

Speaking on the occasion, Mujumdar said, “The association between RK Laxman and Symbiosis has been age old. He has delivered lectures and interacted with the students and faculty so much so that he and his creations have become an integral part of the Symbiosis rubric.’’
