Acting upon an arrest warrant issued by a court in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police on Wednesday arrested the managing director of Suman Motels.

According to the EOW sources, Surendra Khandhar was arrested from outside the Sessions Court on Wednesday afternoon and a transfer warrant was also secured for him.

According to an EOW official, the arrest warrant was issued by the Indore court in a cheating case and Khandhar has already been sent to Indore.

Khandhar is currently on bail in a cheating case of over Rs 50 crore involving over 60,000 investors.

His company Suman Motels is alleged to have floated 12 schemes wherein it offered lucrative returns to its investors but failed to pay back on the scheme’s maturity. He was arrested from the court premises as he had come to attend a court hearing regarding the case filed in Mumbai today said the police.
