Two days after a first information report (FIR) was lodged against founder president of Sinhgad Technical Education Society, MN Navale, for stealing window grills valued at Rs18,000, the stolen goods have been seized by the Paud police station officials.

Pavan Gandhi Charitable Trust member, Ravi Barate, who had earlier filed a case of land grabbing against Navale, had lodged the FIR. After the first case was filed, Navale decided to return the school property under question and started shifting all materials belonging to the school to another campus.

However, Barate alleged that during the shifting, a few window grills that were the trust property were allegedly stolen by Navale and his wife Sunanda.

On Tuesday evening, the Paud police officials recovered the grills from Navale’s possession and kept it on the premises of the station.

“Navale has given a letter stating that the possession of the school was handed over to the trust on October 24. He said that window grills were purchased from schools funds and he has receipts to prove it. We will keep

the grills in our possession till the probe is complete,” said senior inspector NS Nhyalde of Paud police station.
