Rahul Gandhi disappointed slum youth gathered at Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar in Ghatkopar on Friday by omitting any reference to their problems. He had called the gathering, ostensibly, to learn about the youths’ problems, but, instead, used the platform to underline democratic changes in the National Youth Congress.

“He only spoke on elections in the Youth Congress. I felt let down,” said Bhagwan Kesbhat, from NGO Yuva. Surekha Sappal, who came from Malad, said, “I wanted to inform him about the donations required for college admissions, but did not get the chance.”

CM Ashok Chavan, who was with Gandhi at Ghatkopar, chipped in with, “Rahulji, by travelling in a train, has proved that we do not care about threats by some leaders.”
