As Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray called central government’s fuel price-hike as the ‘petrol bomb’ dropped on the countrymen by Congress, the party started its preparations for the protest rally to be held jointly along with Republican Party of India (RPI) and Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) on June 9.

Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday ordered his zonal heads from Mumbai and the district presidents to start campaigning for the ‘Chale Jao’ (Go Back) rally to be held in Azad Maidan. “This is the time to show the people’s power, which will overthrow the useless state government,” he said.

He urged media personnel to come with wide angle cameras, as otherwise they would not be able to capture the sea of people in one shot.

As per instructions given to the party workers, Sena will start its campaign for the June 9 rally from ward level. “There will be ward level meetings, first of activists and then of people and then the assembly constituency level meetings for senior party leaders,” said one of the party leaders.

Though there will be the participation from RPI and BJP, Sena wants this rally as its own show-of-strength. The Sena leadership has instructed all of its district level leaders to ensure the participation of large number of people from all over Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, Sena chief has called the recent price-hike as the indication of anarchy. “The days of Congress government which has thrown our country in to such anarchic condition are over. The outrage against the unreasonable price hike will burn the government,” said Thackeray.
