Excited first time voters rushed to different polling centres with families in the excitement to vote.

Talking to DNA, Sucheta Sontakke, a collegian, said “I am not sure whom will I vote for, but, yes, I heard some of the campaigns and rallies. I have discussed with my parents about whom to vote for, but I am super excited as I will be voting for the first time and will get the voting mark for the first time on my finger.”

Another student of computers Praful Patole is worried about voting “I will go only with my father, I have friends who would be voting for the first time, but I guess all want to go out with their parents. This is a family affair, not a picnic to be with friends, this I feel is a serious thing.”

Voting is a serious affair, and this opinion was seconded by most of the young voters like Shantilal Shere, Amar Athone, Amol Kamble, Chaitali Barge, and Trupti Shinde who visited the polling booths with their families.

Barge says “Now I feel I am an adult as I am going to participate in electing a people’s representative. This idea itself is exciting, I think I will vote for an independent candidate as most political parties do not appeal me at all.”

While talking about being an adult Athone said “Since the day I got my election card I was thinking when would I be able to vote? Today I am going to use the mark on the finger to show that I am a grown up now, not a kid anymore.

The enthusiasm was visible among the youngsters of Pimpri Chinchwad too for voting since morning. The first time voters felt proud after casting their votes.

Pooja Lokhande, FC road student and resident of Chinchwad told DNA, “I was very eager to cast my first vote so I had arrived morning. I feel very happy after casting the right of mine.”

Komal Kadam, resident of Pimpri studying at Jaihind College of Pimpri said, “There was pressure on mind before arriving at the polling booth as I am very excited but I am satisfied that I had performed my duty.”

Rasika Panse, student of Mhalsakant College of Akurdi-Pradhikaran told DNA, “I was at the beginning was sad as my name was not appeared last time in voting list now I am very fortunate that I had did performed my first democratic right as a citizen.”
