The city police have given permission to restaurants and clubs to remain open till 1.30 am on New Year’s day in the city.

A police officer attached with the city police told DNA that hotels, restaurants and bars will have to take permission from the concerned zone deputy commissioner of police (DCP) for organising parties.

For bandobast on New Year’s eve, three additional commissioners of police (Add. CP), four DCP, 10 assistant commissioner of police, 62 police inspectors, 66 assistant police inspectors and police sub-inspectors, 630 policemen, 2 state reserve police force units, 4 quick response teams will be deployed in different parts of the city.

Besides that, crime branch officials and traffic policemen are on bandobast duty in the city. Also, the police have issued instructions to the owners of hotels, lodges, bars and clubs about the timings. If the police find violator the appropriate action would be taken against them.

The city police are also keeping tabs on sound pollution and have issued instructions to commercial establishments about sound pollution.

Moreover, the city police are keeping a close watch on private parties suspecting that drugs can be served in them. If they find such activities, appropriate action would be taken against party organisers.

The city police have urged people to celebrate the New Year in a disciplined manner.
