Another 24-year-old man who admitted himself in Kasturba Hospital on suspicion of the flu has tested negative.
The girl had visited Sydney and Melbourne between June 3 and June 19. On returning to Mumbai, she complained of fever and visited Bhatia Hospital on June 20. “She was referred to Kasturba Hospital on Saturday. She has tested positive for swine flu,” said Pradeep Awate, in-charge, state control room for swine flu.
Also, the 36-year-old engineer who tested positive for Flu on Friday — the first flu case in city — is doing fine. His family members and friends, 13 of them, are on ‘home quarantine’ and they have been given precautionary doses of Tamiflu, an official said.
State machinery screened nearly 11,000 passengers entering various ports and airports in the state on Saturday but none of them showed any symptoms of the flu. Doctors from state public health department have said the H1N1 is a mild condition and can be treated. People should not panic over it.
