One held in custodial suicide case in Mumbai

Investigations revealed that the partner had bought the pesticide and both had consumed the same in the lock up.

Making a breakthrough in the case where one of the robbers had consumed pesticide inside a police lock up and died in January, the crime branch officers, on Wednesday, arrested the other robbery and held him responsible for the death of his partner.

Investigations revealed that the partner had bought the pesticide and both had consumed the same in the lock up.

Shahzad Suleiman Parmar has been arrested by the police for procuring and consuming the pesticide along with his partner Shahdab Moosa Shaikh in the LT Marg police station lock up.

According to the police, Shaikh and Parmar has been arrested by the LT Marg police in a robbery case  and were remanded to police custody by the concerned court till January 15.

“On January 15, they consumed pesticide. On January 21, Shaikh succumbed at JJ Hospital,” said a crime branch officer, requesting anonymity.

The crime branch carried out an investigation into the case and learnt that Parmar had bought the said pesticide by paying Rs200 to a person known as Babulal.
