Rane’s outfit has organised a street play at Ram Ganesh Gadkari chowk near the Sena Bhavan, exposing corruption cases of the BMC.
Following the Bombay high court’s recent judgment turning down a plea to hold a meeting at Shivaji Park on February 13, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray’s petition to hold a rally in front of Sena Bhavan in Dadar has also been rejected. But Shiv Sena’s other rival seems to be adamant on exposing the Sena in its den.
Shiv Sena rebel and industries minister Narayan Rane’s son and president of Swabhimaan Sanghtana, Nitesh Rane will challenge the Sena in front of the party’s own headquarters on Friday.
Rane’s outfit has organised a street play at Ram Ganesh Gadkari chowk near the Sena Bhavan, exposing corruption cases of the BMC.
“We had released a calendar, exposing the 12 cases of corruption in the BMC. The street play is based on these 12 cases; through this play we will expose the corrupt administration of the BMC and the first show has been organised in front of Sena Bhavan,” said Rane.
Starting Friday, a series of shows will be organised across the city. The area around Sena Bhavan has always been a politically sensitive area. It has witnessed instances of clashes between the Sena and MNS. Performing any political activity against the Sena in that area holds a symbolic importance for any of Sena’s rivals.
“It’s a democracy and during election time, we have full right to campaign wherever we want and against anyone. I will be personally present there and if anyone tries to stop us, they will be answered in a similar fashion,” he said.
Sena leaders, when contacted, chose not to comment. “We have no idea about any such activity. We will decide what has to be done tomorrow,” said a Sena leader.
