Mumbai serial blasts: Panel to study Los Angeles control room

The state crisis management think tank has decided to study the control room set up in Los Angeles soon after the dust settles on the bomb blasts crisis.

A high-power committee will study the mechanism and operation of the control room, which is considered one of the best in the world.

“We have decided to visit the control room at the earliest. The administration is very serious about the makeover of the central control room. The committee will study the state-of-the-art equipment in Los Angeles,” said JS Saharia, additional chief secretary, relief and rehabilitation.

An official from Mantralaya said that an independent set-up of the control room is necessary and the government may think of shifting it to another place. “At present, there are plans are for expansion of the control room at Mantralaya, but in the future, it may be upgraded to an independent set-up,” he added.
