Central Railway (CR) passengers will have a difficult commute this Sunday on the CR main line. A one-day jumbo mega block in select stretches promises to disrupt trains for suburban as well as outstation commuters.

CR is going to implement a traffic block from 12.30am to 3.30pm for remodelling of the yard at Vidyavihar and commissioning of the Kurla-Thane fifth and sixth lines between Ghatkopar and Kurla stations on the Up fast line and for connecting Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to the Kurla-Thane the fifth and sixth lines.

Due to this block, no trains will leave or arrive at the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus. Up fast line traffic will be diverted on the Up slow line during the period.

About 100 suburban services will be cancelled and several outstation trains will be cancelled, diverted, rescheduled or curtailed for the day. Some have also seen changes in their originating points. Mail/Express and Passenger trains arriving at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) and Dadar stations during the block period will be diverted on the Up slow line between Vikhroli and Matunga and will arrive at their respective destinations 30 to 45 minutes behind schedule.

Up and Down suburban fast trains arriving or leaving CST and Dadar between 6am and 11pm will run on the Up and Down slow line between Mulund and CST, halting at all stations.
