Two unidentified motorbike-borne men snatched two gold chains, together valued at Rs40,000, from a housewife, who too was on a two-wheeler along with her husband, on Pune-Alandi Road around 8.15 pm on Monday.

The victim, Sunanda Balashaheb Mahajan (40) of Subhashnagar in Yerawada, has lodged an FIR with the Vishrantwadi police station against two unidentified persons on a black motorbike.
According to the police, “Sunanda, along with her husband, was on her way to attend a marriage ceremony when the miscreants came from behind and the pillion rider snatched the chains from the victim’s neck near Bhopkhel area and fled.”

Mayor’s kin robbed

A relative of Pune mayor Mohansingh Rajpal was robbed of about Rs2 lakh kept in a scooter dickey. Ajitsingh Rajpal (51) of Ghorpadi, who runs a garment business in Rasta Peth, has lodged an FIR with the Samarth police station against unidentified persons on Monday evening.

Senior inspector Sanjay Bhambure of Samrath police station said Ajitsingh had on Monday morning collected Rs2 lakh from his garment shop, placed it in a black bag and locked it in the dickey of his two-wheeler. “He was to deposit the money in the bank in the afternoon. When he visited a society to interact with his friend, some goons broke open the lock and decamped with the cash,” he said.

FIR against 12 for damaging hospital
The Kondhwa police have lodged a complaint against 12 people for allegedly ransacking a local hospital. They had brought an injured patient, Wasim Shaikh alias  Wasim Khada, attacked by a rival gang.

Annoyed with the hospital authorities taking time to complete the formalities, the people who accompanied the patient allegedly ransacked the hospital. Later Wasim succumbed to his injuries.
An employee of Satyanand Hospital, Navin Raina, lodged an FIR against Guddu Anwar Shaikh and his accomplices at the Kondhwa police station. Raina alleged that the hospital incurred a loss of Rs1 lakh. Some doctors had to flee from the hospital after the incident.
