The Cyber Cell Investigation Cell (CCIC) officers on Saturday arrested a former employee working in an engineering firm for allegedly sending obscene emails to his woman boss.

The employee was trying to take revenge on the deputy manager of the firm so created a fake email ID in his name from which he sent the emails.

The arrested person has been identified as Milind Balsaraf. According to the police, the victim (name withheld) is the director of a Chinchpokli based engineering firm.

“On September 19, the victim had received an email whose content was very obscene,” said a CCIC officer, requesting anonymity. When she inquired with the deputy manager about the said mail, he denied having such an email ID. She then lodged a complaint with the CCIC. “Investigations revealed that the iP address of the computer from which the email was sent, was of a private company situated at Gurunanak Hospital Road in Bandra,” said the officer.

On further inquiries the police zeroed in on Balsaraf and took him into custody. “It was further learnt that Balsaraf used to earlier work in the victim’s firm and wasn’t on good terms with the deputy manager. He also suspected that victim and deputy manager were responsible for the delay in his salary,” the officer said.

Balsaraf quit the firm and joined another one at Bandra as a commercial officer.

“Investigations had also revealed that before quitting he had allegedly stolen the firm’s letter-head and forged signatures of the directors to get a new job,” the officer said, adding that Balsaraf has been booked under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act.
