Education and career fairs help students enormously in choosing the right career, said mayor Mohansingh Rajpal.

He was speaking at the inauguration of EDUSCOPE, a two-day education and career fair organised by DNA on the premises of the Institute of Engineers in Shivajinagar, on Saturday.

While addressing the gathering, Rajpal said that though nowadays information is just a click away due to advancement of IT, such events are important and help in guiding the students take the right path.

“Such fairs make available experts who can guide the students in a proper manner. Besides, the students also get a feedback on their queries instantaneously,” said Rajpal urging the students to take advantage of such fairs to clear all their doubts about choosing a career.

Lauding the efforts of DNA for its initiative in organising such an event, Rajpal said, “This is a positive step taken by Pune DNA. Such events help students get the right information and precise guidance from experts. They also get to know about the fee structures of different courses that they would like to pursue.”

Vocational courses are equally important in today’s era, he added.
“I would like to appeal to the student fraternity to go to villages and use their talent in educating the rural masses. It would help to improve our society,” he said.

Different institutes from the city participated in EDUSCOPE. These include B Blunt Academy; SNDT College of Home Science; Vishwakarma Group of Institutes; Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth; Lokseva e-School; NSB Boys Military School; Sinhgad Group of Institutes; The Cosmos Co-operative Bank; SRAJAN Institute of Animation and Multimedia; C-DAC; Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education and Training; MIT International School of Broadcasting and Journalism; Toppers’ Pride; Hardikar Hospital and Sancheti Health care Academy.

Experts from different institutes are available at the stalls to answer the queries and guide students and their parents about different career options.

All the institutes have a chance to interact with the students and showcase their strengths. The students get to know about the admission process, scholarships offered and eligibility criteria for admissions.

Associate vice-president of DNA, Pune, Sanjay Pawar, said that such events enable students to become more aware and focused.

“A lot of issues related to admissions, results and performance will be addressed in this fair. A student will have the opportunity to meet and interact with experts on one-to-one basis, giving the students a clear understanding of his/her requirements, their potential and interests,” he added.

Pawar said that DNA organised this event at a time when most students are looking at career options. The fair will help them in getting proper information.
