A suburban ladies special train on harbour line will be flagged off from New Delhi by way of remote sensing technology. Former chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh will flag off the train, which will leave the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus on August 5.

The local will run daily from August 6 between Panvel and CST. It will leave Panvel at 8.48am and reach CST at 10.09am and return from CST at 5.55pm and reach Panvel at 7.12pm.

“This train was announced by minister of railways Mamata Banerjee in her budget speech. Indian Railways will be simultaneously flagging off ladies special trains in Mumbai and New Delhi for their suburban network,” said SC Mudgerikar, chief public relations officer of CR.

A ladies special was started earlier on the harbour line, but it did not take off.
