Jilted lady constable attempts suicide in Thane

A 22-year-old woman forest officer from Dhule attempted suicide at Thane police Parade Ground on Saturday evening. In her suicide note, she has blamed a constable for abetting suicide by refusing to marry her. She had eaten poison.

According to Thane Town police station records, the girl, Jayashree Jagdish Borse, a resident of Dhule near Jalgaon, was found unconscious at Police Parade Ground in Thane on Saturday evening. She was spotted by a woman police officer, who immediately took her to the civil hospital. Later, her relatives transferred her to a private hospital where she is on life support system.

Police found a suicide note at the spot where Jayashree was found unconscious. The note says that Jayashree was in love with Dinesh Indave, a constable with the Thane police, but since he had refused to marry her, she decided to end her life.
Police sources said the girl’s relatives do not want any action against Indave who is a relative.
