Next time if your vehicle get stolen, the chances are that you may trace it sooner than later. The reason being that the police have become more serious with the investigation of the stolen motor vehicles, after an advisory was issued regarding the sneaking of two suspected terrorists in the city.

“We are taking the cases of missing motor vehicles very seriously. The two terrorists who have slipped into the city might steal vehicle in order to carry out their terror activities “ reasoned a senior crime branch officer. This new urgency has come in the wake of the fact that there were several instances in the past when the terrorists had reportedly used stolen cars in order to execute terror activities.

The officials said that all the police stations have been told to take up the complaints about missing missing vehicles on priority basis and not delay the investigation any further.

The sources say this was not the case earlier as the police hardly take interest in the missing vehicle as there are other priorities to be met. The city police , on the eve of Eid and Ganeshutsav , had released an advisory for the citizens to be cautious of suspected terrorists Kalimuddin Khan alias Rameshwar Pandit, 28, and Hafiz Sharif, 25, who went off the radar of intelli gence agencies few days back. The police said Khan and Sharif who are of Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationality respectively having links with the terror groups had entered the country through the porous Bangladesh border.

The recent case in point is the explosion in a Maruti 800 car which happened outside the Jama Masjid in Delhi on Sunday. The police suspect that the car could have been stolen and then stationed at the spot.

In another instance, four cars from Navi Mumbai were used in the terror related activities in Gujarat in which 15 low intensity blast took off in 2008.
