Ispat's top official and wife feared trapped

MUMBAI: A top official of steel major, Ispat Industries, and his wife are believed to be still trapped inside the Trident (Oberoi) Hotel, which is one of the three places where operations against holed-up terrorists are still on.

Vinod Garg, Executive Director, Commercial, Ispat Industries, and his wife were at a business dinner with the company's foreign customers when terrorists attacked the
hotel last night.

Many guests in the hotel are still trapped and some of them are believed to have been taken as hostages.

An Ispat spokesperson, when contacted, said that while it was known that Garg and his wife had gone to the Trident for dinner, there was no information about them since then.
    

The company is still "clueless" about their whereabouts, the spokesperson said.

Garg has been an Executive Director of Commercial of Ispat Industries since April. Prior to that, he was an executive director of marketing in the company.
