The Maharashtra government on Tuesday said they would consider the demands put forward by kolis (fishing community) for the redevelopment of koliwadas in the city.
A delegation of kolis met deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar seeking changes in the development control regulations with an additional FSI of 2 for redevelopment.
“They get limited benefits due to CRZ regulations and the delegation demanded that they should be allowed relaxation in the margins left around the premise, to which the government has agreed in principle,” Bhaskar Jadhav, minister of state for urban development told DNA.
Another issue that came up during the meeting was that most of the land where they stay is not in their name and their names were missing from the 7/12 extracts of the land record.
“We have asked the city collector to look into the matter,” Jadhav said.
