Senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde’s house-hunting in Delhi has ended. He has been allotted a spacious bungalow at 21 Lodhi Estate. Munde, on his part, had left the search to the housing committee of the parliament. But nobody took initiative and he decided to continue in a single room at Maharashtra Sadan.
To his surprise, in the recently-concluded monsoon session of the parliament, his colleague Sharad Yadav raised a point of order in the Lok Sabha.
While commenting on the caste census debate, he said, “The government is not only delaying the decision related to caste census but is also not providing a home to an OBC neta. It is really unfair.” Munde, who has made common cause with regional leaders across the country to pursue caste-related politics, was amused at his housing issue figuring in the parliament.
But within a couple of days, he was informed about the new house. The previous occupant of the house was veteran actor-turned-MP Dilip Kumar, whose term as parliamentarian is over.
