Though Hasan Ali Khan has been given a conditional bail and has to report to the ED office every day for the next five working days between 11am and 2 pm, it does not give too much hope to the Enforcement Directorate.

Officials of the directorate feel that Khan, who is already Infamous for non-cooperation, is unlikely to cooperate in the investigations. It will now become even more difficult for the directorate to unearth the missing links they had been insisting on all through the argument in the special court.

In words of Khan himself, the entire procedure may be mere formality. “If the court has ordered I shall follow it,” Khan told DNA.
One of the directorate officials on conditions of anonymity said, “Our investigation is in the preliminary stages, if we don’t get the custody how can we proceed in connecting the missing?”

Sharing the view, another official added that the delay in getting remand is a severe setback. “We can’t get him face-to-face to Philip Anandraj nor can we dig details about his links with arms dealer Adnan Kashoggi. There is such a great deal of hue and cry about money laundering but how are we expected to function in a situation like this,” the officer wondered.

The directorate said it will challenge the order and move the Bombay high court.

“God is with me and I have not done anything wrong. Let them move the superior court, they will still have no grounds against me,” said Khan reacting to directorate’s move to move high court.
