The Congress has landed itself in a mess, with the differences
between party’s top leaders, finance minister Pranab Mukherjee and home minister P Chidambaram coming to the fore. DNA explores.

We have become a laughing stock for other countries
The politicians are ruining the future of the coming generation. The Congress party is at the apex of all these scams, including the 2G scam. I blame the head of the governing party, Manmohan Singh, for being so docile. His defensive behaviour and nice conduct is being taken for granted by the party ministers.
We have become a laughing stock for other countries, the way our government is functioning and doing nothing about misuse of public money. Definitely Congress has lost its credibility. In fact, it lost its image in the public eye much before due to the Commonwealth Games scam involving MP Suresh Kalmadi.

With no political will, UPA’s mechanism has collapsed
The UPA has no modus operandi to fight corruption. The truth is that the ministers have no commitment within their party to deal with the scams. The Congress party has definitely spoiled its image in the public eye and lost its credibility long time back. They have already given up the battle to come out clean. With no political will, the UPA’s mechanism has collapsed. Congress party has become a machine of fabricated interests.

The recent tussle between finance minister Pranab Mukherjee and home minister P Chidambaram is not the cause; it is the result of the party losing its political will. The party members are functioning individually with no link to the actual crises.

The leadership and ethos are missing in all political parties
The Congress is a historically exhausted party. Today, the minimum ethos and leadership are missing in all the political parties. That is why, social activist Anna Hazare has become the choice of people. Congress is still a major party because they have the vote banks of dalits, adivasis and minority. The recent indifferences between Pranab and Chidambaram is irrelevant. There have been bigger tussles within the party before.

Next election will be a judgement day for all political parties
In my opinion, Congress has totally lost its credibility due to its failure to come up with any solution to resolve these scams. It is not only Congress, but all other parties have lost their political will to serve the nation in true sense. With accusation against P Chidambaram, the Congress is still tight-lipped about the whole issue. The next election is going to be a real judgement day for all political parties.

Under the UPA rule, there have been quite a few scams
The UPA government is responsible and accountable to the public. It needs to give a clarification on the 2G spectrum scam and alleged role of P Chidambaram in the whole issue. Under the UPA rule, there have been quite a few scams. Even though prime minister Manmohan Singh commands a lot of respect, he has to come clean on the alleged scams.
