The anti-corruption bureau of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday seized documents relating to Mumbai's Adarsh Housing Society from the Khadki-based residence of Vishal Kedari, a suspect in the Lohegaon defence land scam.

The documents seized by the CBI suggest that one of the flats in Adarsh Society is owned by one Gilani. The CBI has detained Kedari and are questioning him about the identity of Gilani and how the file came in his possession.

In the Lohegaon defence land scam, one Kevin Pinto had allegedly forged documents and claimed ownership of 69.24 acres in Lohegaon belonging to the defence ministry. The land is valued at more than Rs850 crore. The CBI has arrested Pinto.

The investigating agency is still probing into the land scam and in this connection it conducted a search of Kedari's residence. Kedari is an agent who is involved with ration cards.

The CBI also searched the houses of former defence estate officer (Pune circle), SR Nayyar, and one Jarib Khan in connection with the Lohegaon land scam case.

CBI superintendent of police, Vidya Kulkarni, told DNA, "The documents seized from Kedari's house are being scrutinised."
