As reports that the most famous resident of their village had announced breaking his fast tomorrow reached here, people in Anna Hazare's village erupted in joy.

"We are celebrating Anna's victory. We knew he would achieve the goal he set out to achieve," Datta Awari, a close aide of Hazare told PTI.

"Throughout the day, there was an atmosphere of anxiety and people were glued to TV sets.

The pandal erected by the villagers gave in due to heavy rainfall, Awari said, adding that it rained whole day in the area.

Kantabai, Hazare's sister-in-law, said it was upto the social activist to take a call on ending his fast. "He has always been adamant and no one else can make him change his mind," she said.
Earlier today, supporters of Hazare blocked the Pune-Ahmednagar highway, 5 km from Ralegan Siddhi. Hundreds of protesters staged a 'rasta roko' from 10 am, disrupting traffic on the busy road.

Occupants of some of the stranded vehicles were seen joining the protest to express solidarity with the 74-year-old social activist and his anti-corruption movement.
