Flaying the Centre for being "hasty" in announcing the creation of a separate Telangana, AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa today said her party would never support the idea of bifurcating Tamil Nadu.

"AIADMK will never support the idea of bifurcation of Tamil Nadu," Jayalalithaa told reporters at the airport here, in views similar to that of her arch rival and chief minister M Karunanidhi.

Jayalalithaa's remarks came in response to a demand by PMK founder S Ramadoss and small outfits for bifurcation of Tamil Nadu on the ground that it would be good on administrative grounds.

Karunanidhi had yesterday said that neither the DMK nor the people of Tamil Nadu favoured the idea of bifurcation.

Jayalalithaa, who returned to Chennai after winding up campaign for the December 19 Tiruchendur assembly bypoll, charged the Centre with being "hasty" on the Telangana issue.

Karunanidhi had also made similar remarks, saying the Centre had taken "a delayed decision followed by a hasty announcement" on Telangana.
