37 girls in Malegaon hospitalised for food poisoning

The girls of Jamahoor Vidyalaya in one of the slums of Malegaon, who had consumed the khichdi of the mid day meal, began vomiting and complaining of nausea and giddiness.

More than 37 girls of 6th std of a local school in Malegaon were rushed to a hospital after a few of them complained of nausea and vomiting on Thursday.

The girls of Jamahoor Vidyalaya in one of the slums of Malegaon, who had consumed the khichdi of the mid day meal, began vomiting and complaining of nausea and giddiness.

They were immediately rushed to a local private hospital. “Girls had been brought here with complaints and were attended to. They are better and most of them have been discharged after treatment”, stated the resident medical officer at Akbar Ali hospital.

As the girls were been taken to the hospital, some rumours of fatality caused commotion and panic in the town of Malegaon for a while. Things were under control soon.

Some of the girls who showed severity of symptoms were shifted to Malegaon Civil hospital. They are out of danger, it is reported.
