Malwani police have arrested two people, who had attacked and killed a 22-year-old BPO employee with a chopper. The suspects have been identified as Ibrahim Shaikh, 23, and Abdul Shaikh, 22.

According to police, the deceased, Adil Atiq Ansari, called his friend Irfan Shaikh and Abdul Wasim for drinks on Saturday night.

“Around 1am on Sunday, Wasim wanted to meet his girl friend who stays near Tiranga society. The accused objected to Wasim hanging out with a girl from the area and harassed the girl too,” said assistant police inspector, S Nevase of the Malwani police station.

“Both the groups then got into an argument and it took an ugly turn when Abdul and Ibrahim pulled out their choppers and attacked Ansari and Shaikh. Wasim luckily did not suffer any injuries” said Nevase.

“Ansari succumbed to the injuries while Shaikh was admitted to the ICU. Wasim registered a complaint with the Malwani police station,” said another police officer. “Abdul and Ibrahim were produced in the court and remanded to police custody for seven days. Police are yet to recover the weapons,” said officer.
