The revised candidate-friendly test pattern of the GRE along with wider acceptibility of the test in various business institutes has led to a 13% increase in the number of test takers — the highest in the program's history.
US volumes increased nearly 10% from 2010, and ETS (the GRE conductor) saw solid increases in underrepresented groups, the variety of undergraduate degrees and individuals planning to pursue an MBA. Internationally, GRE test volumes increased nearly 25% over 2010. India saw a 43% increase and China a 28% increase in test volumes. David Payne, VP and COO of ETS's Higher Education Division, said, "The growing use of GRE by business schools is great news for students who now have more opportunities for success.”
