A 42-year-old woman was today killed and her husband injured when a group of armed dacoits broke into their house in Yeola in Nashik, police said
The five-member gang entered the house of Gangadhar Bhalke in Rajapur-Shivar near Nandgaon road in the early hours and managed to escape after looting gold ornaments and other valuables, they said.
Wife Shobhatai was killed on the spot in the meelee, and Bhalke got injured during the skirmish, police said.
A search for dacoits has been launched and important exit points have been sealed, police added.
