Two women beat marshals injured in accident in Ghatkopar

Two constables from the newly formed woman beat marshals' team met with an accident in Ghatkopar on Friday evening after the motorcycle they were on was hit by another. While the two were discharged after treatment, the errant biker, who too received grievous injuries, is still in hospital.

The Pantnagar police said the incident occurred around 5.17pm at Mumbai-Thane highway near Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar in Ghatkopar (East).

Complainant Manisha Karde, 25, and rider Sonali Karad, both from Bhandup police station, were on their way to the regional control room in Chembur, when their motorcycle was hit by another one, which was speeding, being driven by one Sanskrut Dhokle, 21.

“Karde and Karad sustained minor injuries and were discharged after preliminary treatment at Rajawadi hospital. Dhokle sustained head injury and is admitted in Sion hospital. We have booked him for rash and negligent driving. He will be arrested once he's discharged from the hospital,” said an officer.
