Theatre personality Sudhir Joshi dead

Marathi theatre personality Sudhir Joshi died in Mumbaion Wednesday following a massive heart attack. He was 57.

MUMBAI: Marathi theatre personality Sudhir Joshi died here on Wednesday following a massive heart attack. He was 57.
  
Joshi, who acted in several films and television serials, had undergone a bypass surgery in Singapore last month where he had gone to perform his play Hasta Hasta.
  
The surgery was successful and he had returned to Mumbai and had begun work on television serials and films.
  
On Wednesday at 3.30 pm, he felt uneasy while at home at Dadar and was taken to a private hospital but he breathed his last before admission.
  
Joshi became extremely popular with his first serial Bhikaji Karodpati where he played a rich miser in the 1980s.
  
Among his popular films were Sachin's Ashi Hi Banva Banvi, Maza Pati Karodpati, Navri Mile Navryala as well as Hamal de dhamal, Ek full Char Half, Jamla Ho Jamla, Devki, Tu Tithe Mi and Gammat Jammat.
  
Joshi was more known in Maharashtra for his plays like Lapandav, Ashvamedh, Tur Tur, Shante cha Karta chalu Aahe, Jodidar.
 
I am not Bajirao was his English play.
 
Friends and admirers from the Marathi theatre, film and television world paid tributes to him at his Dadar residence.
 
The funeral took place at Shivaji Park on Wednesday evening.
