Thane NCP president Najeeb Mulla, leader of the opposition in the Thane Municipal Corporation Hanumant Jagdale (also NCP) and two other corporators today sought anticipatory bail in connection with the builder Suraj Parmar sucide case.

Apart from Mulla and Jagdale, Vikrant Chavan of Congress and independent corporator Sudhakar Chavan moved the district court for pre-arrest bail.

Parmar, head of Comsos group who shot himself dead at a construction site on October 7, had said in his 18-page suicide note that he was facing harassment from a nexus of officials and corporators of TMC who were blocking clearances for his projects. He had named many people in the note and later struck the names off, fearing for the safety of his family.

The police, who had sent the note for forensic examination, today revealed that it contained the names of Mulla and three other corporators. The next hearing of bail applications would take place on October 31, with the court issuing notice to the investigating officer.
