On Friday evening, Abhishek Chopra, 28, was the first person to drive over the Milan subway rail over bridge, inaugurated on Friday.
This was his fifth encounter at being the first to drive over bridges in Mumbai, even beating city dignitaries in his cruise to the finish. Strapped into his white sedan, Chopra, a singer by profession, parked his car at the entry point of the Milan subway rail over bridge and spoke to traffic policemen about his dream to enter the Limca Book of Records.
“I have already inquired with the Limca Book officials and till date no one holds the record of first to drive over flyovers and bridges,” he said. Chopra plans to approach Limca Book of Records and get himself registered next week after the Eastern Freeway is inaugurated.
He also wants to be the first on the bridge connecting Orange Gate in south Mumbai with Panjrapol junction.
Mumbai roads are feeding Chopra with enough opportunities. Slotted for completion later this year is Sahar Elevated road, Santacruz-Chembur link road, Amar Mahal junction flyover and Kapurbavdi flyover in Thane.
