Noted author Sadanand More to visit Bedekar college

Noted author and scholar of saint literature, Sadanand More will be visiting Bedekar college on Wednesday and will preside over the event organised by the Marathi literary association called 'Sant, Sahitya Aani Aapan.'

This is a good opportunity for Thane's Marathi literature lovers and those who are interested in sant (saint) literature in Thane.

More was recently elected as the president of the 88th edition of the Akhil Bharitya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan and this victory has become even more special as the All India Marathi literary meet will be held in Ghuman, Punjab, next year, which is also the karmabhoomi (the land where one works) of saint Namdeo.

Members of the Akhil Bharitya Sahitya Mahamandal, the apex Marathi literary body, its affiliated and co-opted member organisations have the right to vote in the presidential election.

It was during his tenure that the chief minister of Punjab. Prakash Singh badal, declared the event as state event, making it the first Akhil Bhartiya Sahitya Sammelan to get such a stature. Apart from the college students and staff, they have also invited the Thane district library president, librarian and supervisor. All those who are interested to visit can be a part of the event at 11am.
