Borivali police on Monday filed an affidavit in the Bombay High Court, informing they had registered a first information report (FIR) against self-styled godwoman Sukhwinder Kaur also known as Radhe Maa on a complaint given by actress Dolly Bindra and further investigations are on.

The affidavit by police inspector Manohar Hindalekar states some allegations raised in the complaint pertain to financial irregularities in the trust and Radhe Maa amassing wealth more than the known sources of income. To inquire into the same, the police have written to charity commissioner and the income-tax department and sought details.

Public prosecutor Sandeep Shinde told the court: "If at all we find evidence of financial irregularities against Radhe Maa, action will follow by registering an offence." The affidavit added that after gathering evidence the police concluded that no case under the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman evil, Aghori practices and Black Magic Act, is made out against her.

Petitioner Falguni Brahmabhatt — who filed the PIL — argued: "Serious allegations of sexual harassment and duping of several people in the garb of offering spiritual guidance is leveled by her in the complaint. However, the police are not taking any cognizance of it and till now no FIR has been registered. She alleged that in a way they are shielding the accused."

Shinde though countered the argument by saying that four persons, including complainant Dolly Bindra, had complained on verification of the same it was found that similar allegations of indecency and obscenity, were raised against them. Thus, there is no proprietary in filling different FIR for the same allegations. The court has now adjourned the hearing for two weeks directing Brahmabatt to file her rejoinder to the police affidavit.
Radhe Maa has opposed the PIL claiming that all sermons are given inside a room and hence it cannot amount to indecent or obscene behavior in public.

No arrest till Wednesday
The high court on Monday also adjourned the hearing on the anticipatory bail application filed by Radhe Maa till Wednesday in a dowry harassment case registered against her at Kandivali police station. The court extended the interim relief of not to arrest her till then.
