Two days before the British royal wedding, Suhani Jalota and the superwomen in her team are busy with last minute hustle.

Jalota's NGO — city-based Myna Mahila Foundation — is one of the seven charities listed by Britain's Prince Harry and his fiancée Meghan Markle as beneficiaries at their wedding. The couple appealed to people to support these charities instead of sending them wedding presents.

Jalota and two representatives of the NGO – Deborah Das and Archana Ambre – have been invited to the royal wedding at Windsor Castle on May 19. Both managers live in the slums of Govandi.

They will be taking a highly personalised gift for the couple — an outline of the myna bird, with messages from all the women written in calligraphy. The art is a nod to Meghan Markle, who is a calligraphy artist."Everyone is extremely excited about it," says Jalota

The fact that they have been invited has just about hit the team, which has been caught up with arranging passports, visas and some last minute preparations. "They (Das and Ambre) are extremely happy and excited to board their first flight," says Jalota

The NGO has organised a fundraising event after the wedding called 'Chaat for change' on May 21 at the Calcutta Canteen in London, where they will sell Indian delicacies such as chaat, pao bhaji and kaju katli to raise funds. "We will use the event as an opportunity to make the organisation stronger," said Jalota.

The NGO helps women evolve as businesswomen by providing training in health, English, Maths, and skills such as defence. It also provides them with stable employment opportunities.
