Mumbai: Couple commits suicide in Borivli

A 58-year-old doctor and his wife allegedly committed suicide by hanging at their resident in Borivli, Mumbai on Thursday night. The deceased couple has been identified as Ashok H Shah and his wife Ela, 54.

According to the police, the couple committed suicide at their residence at Saidham building, Sodawala lane, Borivali (West). A suicide note was recovered from the spot. As per the suicide note, it is mentioned nobody should be held responsible for their act.

The bodies were first seen by their son when he returned home at about 10 pm.

The Borivli Police is investigating the case. "At this stage nothing suspicious is found. The couple is survived by son and daughter. We have registered an accidental death case at Borivali Police station," said assistant commissioner of police, Sudhakar Pujari.
