Man held for abducting 3-year old nephew

The city crime branch sleuths managed to rescue a three-year-old boy within 24 hours after he was allegedly abducted by his own uncle following a household argument.

According to joint commissioner of police (crime), Sadanand Date, on July 25, one Nirmala Kadarpa, 25, a resident of Chamunda Nagar slums at Veer Sawarkar Road in Bhandup (E), had lodged a complaint with Kanjurmarg police station stating that her son Naitik, was abducted by her brother Naresh Solanki, 25, following a household argument.

After the complaint was lodged, the Ghatkopar Unit of crime branch immediately swung into action and formed a special team to trace the suspect and abducted child, said additional commissioner, KMM Prasansna.

"Solanki was apprehended from his Nalasopara residence within 24 hours and Naitik was rescued from his possession," said senior inspector Vyankat Patil.
