The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Examinations (MSBSHSE), Mumbai division, has come out with a clarification that news floating about of a re-exam of the Std XII secretarial practice paper, which students had taken on February 26, is false.

Rumours had spread via social media, with students getting messages on WhatsApp, saying the paper had leaked and hence there would be a re-exam. On receiving such messages, many students had called on the board helpline worried.

Shrikant Shingare, who attends helpline calls, said, "We received a few calls on Monday, but Tuesday the number of calls increased, and that's when we realised that students had started believing the rumours. We pacified them and told them not believe such messages."

So far, there have been no issues or glitches in the exams that started on February 21.

MSBSHSE chairman Laxmikant Pande said, "Students should not believe these rumours. They should focus on their studies."
