Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's wife Amruta narrowly escaped being hurt in a road accident in Mumbai on Friday. The car that she was travelling in however was severely damaged in the accident.

Fadnavis was on her way back from the bank when at around 7.30 in the evening her Innova was hit by a cement mixing vehicle in Lower Parel area. A security guard was present in the car along with her and both were unharmed by the accident.
"Yesterday, while I was returning from office, a lorry dashed on to my car. I am fine, but there is a dent in the car," she said. The police arrived at the accident spot in little time however Fadnavis decided to not register a complaint. She decided to leave from there so that there would not be a traffic jam.
