Lawyer not allowed to meet Indrani Mukerjea, moves court

Sheena Bora murder case accused Indrani Mukerjea's lawyer on Saturday moved the local court, seeking permission to meet her in the J J hospital, where the accused is currently being treated after an alleged drug overdose.
Earlier in the day, lawyer Gunjan Mangala was not allowed to meet her in the hospital by the authorities. Mangala later met J J hospital Dean T P Lahane, who updated about her about Indrani's health.

On Friday afternoon, Mangala moved an application before the court, stating that she was not allowed to meet her client. Hearing the plea, Magistrate R V Adone sought a report from the J J hospital on the health condition of Indrani and adjourned the matter for the next week.

Meanwhile, during the course of hearing, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) informed the court that they have just taken over the case from the Mumbai police. The agency also stated that the offence was of serious nature, and the investigation in its initial stages.

The court also allowed CBI's application to call all records from the Bandra Magistrate Court, which was handling the matter earlier.
