Jr Thackeray unhurt as his car collides with signal jumper

The Alto driver has been fined as he accepted his mistake and took responsibility of the accident

On Sunday afternoon, Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray escaped unhurt after a minor car accident at Kalanagar junction of Kherwadi, Bandra in which Aaditya collided his BMW with Maruti Alto.

According to police, no one has been injured in the collision however both the car’s have been damaged. While BMW’s bonnet and Alto’s right side’s door has been damaged. Police claims that it was Alto driver, Ashish Kumar’s mistake, as he jumped the signal causing collision. After the collision Kumar immediately admitted his mistake and apologised to Thackeray.

“The driver was going towards airport from Dharavi while Aditya was going towards Mahim, the collision took place because Kumar jumped the signal speedily due to which Aaditya’s car collided with his car,”said Rajendra Patil, Senior Police inspector of Kherwadi Police Station. “No one has been injured in the accident. Kumar has accepted his mistake and has taken the responsibility of the accident,We have charged a fine to Kumar for jumping the signal and he was let off after completing necessary procedure and paying due fine,” Patil added.

Soon after the incident Aditya tweeted the news of the incident. He wrote, “Thank you for your concern and calls. I met with an accident after being hit by a speeding car that jumped a signal at Kalanagar junction.”

“Everyone is safe and sound. The car that jumped the signal is fine too. Thank you for the prayers and good wishes that keep us safe,” he added.

The 26-year-old son of Sena president Uddhav Thackeray was driving the BMW when the accident occurred along with the security personnel. After the accident he called another vehicle and continued his journey.
