IRB collects 25% of its total toll on Surat-Dahisar highway

For IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd, Surat-Dahisar Highway is a major Built-Operate-Transfer (BOT) project out of the total of 16 such operational projects it has across the nation. Just two of its projects — Surat-Dahisar and Mumbai-Pune Expressway — comprises half of the BOT toll revenue that the organisation collects.

As per the fourth quarter results announced, Surat-Dahisar Highway constitutes 25 per cent of the total toll revenue it has collected between January-March 2016 as against 26 per cent during the same quarter last year. The traffic grew on the Surat-Dahisar stretch by 10 per cent.

Another major BOT project for the organisation is Mumbai-Pune Expressway which constitutes one-fourth of the BOT toll revenue collected during the same fiscal quarters.

According to the data available with dna, as compared to results of the fourth quarter of year ending March 31, 2015 there has been 10.43 per cent increase during the fourth quarter ending on March 31, 2016. Between January-March 2015 the BOT toll revenue from Surat-Dahisar project was Rs146.6 crore which has now increased to Rs161.9 crore.

During the entire fiscal 2015-16, the revenue collection stood at Rs613.54 crore as against Rs554.91 crore the previous financial year. Therefore, registering a 10.55 per cent rise from toll revenue for Surat-Dahisar BOT project. In 2013-14, it was Rs487.93 crore.

Overall for the company, during the fourth quarter of the year 2015-16, as compared to the same duration the previous year, IRB declared a profit of Rs152 crore on total income of Rs1,571 crore for fourth quarter of year 2015-16 as compared to the same duration the previous year. During the same period, income from operations has increased by 55 per cent to Rs1,537 crore for the quarter four as against Rs991 crore for fourth quarter ending in 2014-15.
