Five-year-old girl murdered, body dumped near her Vashi house

The police said the girl’s parents — father is a labourer and mother works as a maid — were away at work.

The body of a five-year-old girl, who had gone missing on Tuesday from Kopri village in Vashi, was found in front of her house on Wednesday morning. The police suspect the girl was raped before being murdered, but are waiting for the post-mortem report.

The police said the girl’s parents — father is a labourer and mother works as a maid — were away at work. The girl and her two elder bothers, who are below 10 years of age, were with her till afternoon. When the parents returned in the evening, they did not find the girl at home. Her brothers were clueless about her whereabouts, as they had gone out to play leaving her alone.”

After searching for two hours, the parents registered a complaint at APMC police station around 9.30pm,” said Srikant Pathak, deputy commissioner of police (crime).
”The parents were in the police station till midnight. When they returned home around 2.30am on Wednesday, they found their daughter’s body dumped in front of their house,” he added.

The police have found several injury marks in her body and suspect that the culprits sexually assaulted her before murdering her. “It is not confirmed if the girl was raped. The body has been sent to Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Hospital in Vashi,” Pathak added.

The girl’s mother is sure that her daughter was sexually assaulted and there were lots of assault marks on her private parts and her lips.”The girl went missing from her vicinity and her body was also dumped in front of her residence. Therefore, we are sure that no outsider is involved in the crime,” said an officer from APMC police station.”We suspect someone known to the family and the working hours of the parents to have committed the crime. Our investigations are on,” he added.

Rape Suspected
The girl’s mother is sure that her daughter was sexually assaulted and there were injury marks on her private parts and lips.” The police are waiting for the post-mortem report to confirm rape.

Three-yr-old Dharavi girl assaulted
A three-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by an unidentified man in a housing colony in Dharavi on Tuesday. She was admitted to Sion hospital will be kept under observation, said doctors. The doctors said though there was no penetration, fingering had led to injuries and bleeding on her private parts. Dr Suleman Merchant, dean of the LTMG Sion hospital, said, “The child has minor injuries which can lead to infection.”

The girl was playing with other children outside her home. Later, the parents found her crying near a public toilet about 300m away from their house.  “We have registered a case under section 363 (kidnapping) and 376 (rape) of the IPC and sections 4,8 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012,” said Ashok Survegandh, senior police inspector of Dharavi police station. The police are awaiting a medical report from the Sion hospital.

‘Dad, brother sexually abused me’
A minor girl’s father and her 22-year-old brother were arrested for sexually abusing her. The 17-year-old has complained that the two sexually assaulted her. They live in Bandra slums. The man’s first wife left him few years ago. The girl started living with her uncle. When her father remarried three years ago, the uncle sent her back. “A year ago, her father allegedly sexually abused. The brother too started forcing her to have unnatural sex,” said the police.

“Her father and brother have been booked under section 377 (unnatural sex) and other related sections of the IPC,” said police inspector, P Tangadpallea. “The accused said the girl wanted to marry her uncle’s son but when they opposed, she made false allegations against them,” he added.
