' DNA' book fetes GenNext of construction industry

“We as a media group will play the crucial and responsible role to change the wrong perception about the real estate industry. We will correct the sullied image of the real estate industry. The gap between the government and the governed needs to be filled,” said Subhash Chandra, Essel Group chairman, while unveiling a coffee table book titled Next Generation, highlighting the bright young turks in the city’s real estate sector, on Wednesday evening.

Also presiding over the event were Zee Entertainment Enterprises MD and CEO Punit Goenka and Pan India Network CEO Amit Goenka.

Addressing the leaders of the real estate industry, architects and rating firms, Subhash Chandra said the new generation today has a lot more challenges to face as compared to previous generations.

“It is a wonderful book which shows how fathers are successfully handing over the baton to the next generation,” said DNA’s CEO KU Rao as he opened the session. Rao added that DNA is committed to doing several campaigns which can bring a change in society. DNA’s editor-in-chief Aditya Sinha said the coffee table book effectively captures the past, present and future players of the real estate sector.

The Next Generation trophies were given to Sanjay Chhabria and Navin Makhija from Wadhwa Group, Ravi Kiran Agarwal from Orbit Construction, Pranay Vakil, chairman, Knight Frank, India, property lawyer Parimal Shroff, architect Reza Kabul, Ashok Mohnani and Vivek Mohnani of Ekta Group, Paras Gundecha of Gundecha Group, Suhas Sankpal from Sankpal Group, Percy Choudhari from Rustomjee Developers, Mohammed Lokhandwala and Ali Lokhandwala from Lokhandwala Infrastructure and Abhisheck Lodha from the Lodha Group.
