While many politicians are using social media in their election campaign, BJP state unit president Devendra Fadnavis has gone one step ahead and prepared small video clips on the work done by him as an MLA in his constituency.

Fadnavis has 6.5 lakh followers on Facebook and 25,000 on twitter apart from the 4,500 people who are questioning him on a regular basis through a special app named 'Ask Devendra'. Shweta Shalini, co-convener of BJP's IT cell at the state office in Mumbai, told dna that as per the plan Fadnavis has succeeded in reaching out to the electorate as a tech-icon through this app.

Fadnavis has made video clips showing the work done by him as an elected representative from the Nagpur South-West assembly constituency. These clips are being sent to all the voters on mobile phones via WhatsApp.

The party has set up war rooms for every district and there are 40 trained party workers to handle these rooms. Shalini said that the party can easily reach out to diverse sections of the electorate with the click of a button through its war room at Mumbai and can also retaliate to the misinformation campaign at the same time with quick response.

Shalini said many ask Fadnavis questions on the Shiv Sena-BJP split through the app.

Fadnavis himself answers all such questions and if he's in his hectic election campaign schedule he makes it a point to respond by saying, "I am very busy at the moment and will not be able to answer right now".
